Singakwenza, which means ‘We can do it!’ is a non-profit organisation that aims to provide low cost, high impact Health and Early Childhood Education through empowerment programmes to economically disadvantaged communities. This is achieved through the following:
– Early Childhood Development Mentorship Programme: This sustainable stimulation programme focuses on the critical developmental years (0 to 5) and uses educational resources made from recycling.
– Waste2Toys Workshops: These are fun, hands-on workshops on how to make toys and teaching aids from recycled materials.
– Peer Education Programme: A powerful and very successful behavioural change programme, educating influential staff members in the workplace about HIV / AIDS, who then disperse this information amongst their peers during structured sessions each week.
– Mobile Clinic: Providing Primary Health Care and Counselling to workers on site and aim to improve wellness and quality of life through regular treatment.
