Mzansi Arts Development Ensemble (MADE) is a non-profit and community driven organisation registered on 26 September 2005, based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. MADE promotes Arts as a source of personal fulfilment and carves a potential career path for its students as professional dancers, theatre practitioners, choreographers and musicians. The founder was driven by the lack of skills, slow growth and recognition of the South African Arts Industry. Mzansi Arts Development Ensemble’s purpose is to prepare an artist with strong personal interests in the arts to successfully pursue entry into an institute of higher learning and / or career in the performing and fine arts by channelling their unique skills and talents through an intense, integrated academic, training and development programme.

Our Programmes:
Our learning approach focuses on an individual developmental approach with high academic and artistic standards. MADE intends to provide learning interventions to artists / performers in order to empower the individual and improve quality of productions. We offer a unique balance of rigorous skills, development and training in the performing arts. Areas of artistic training range from Dance, Music, Drama and Arts and Craft. All our artists / performers are taught by qualified, reputable, talented and dedicated facilitators who continue to be professionals practicing artists in the community, allowing the participants to learn not only technical aspects of artistic expression but also the practical.

Mission Statement:
MADE through arts, culture, heritage is committed and dedicated to achieving an environment conducive to the development and empowerment of a morally healthy, balanced, well-grounded and talented society of young women and men and children. The organization strives to provide a holistic approach when addressing socio- economic disparities and related challenges in order to achieve a society that is sensitive to a culture of human rights formed primarily to provide skills development and training within the Performing Arts Industry.

Goals and Objectives:
The overall goal of Mzansi Arts Development Ensemble is to use the creative medium of the performing arts to train, educate, develop and empower youth and adults from historically disadvantaged communities. Established as an arts organization that focuses on development and training, its objective is to empower youth, provide opportunities in performance exposure, and create a platform where artists can show case their talent. MADE helps artists develop their talent with structured and discipline approach.
