David R. Patient (MHT) and Neil M. Orr (MA) will host this seminar in Durban on 29 and 30 October 2013. This seminar has been specifically designed for Non-Profit, Non-Government and Community-Based Organisations.
This two-day seminar is designed to bring participants up to speed in terms of the range of new approaches to HIV prevention, which we call the A-2B-4C-T Model: ARVs / Barriers / Breastfeeding / Couples / Co-infections / Circumcision / Community Viral Load / Testing.
The purpose of this seminar is to allow participants to become aware of the 8 primary methods of prevention, how and why they work. It is also the intention of the seminar is to help participants to understand enough about each strategy to be able to develop a prevention strategy for his / her own organisation. Participants will be provided with electronic reference documents.
David Patient & Neil Orr:
David R Patient is one of the longest documented people living with HIV in the world and has spent the last 30 years as an activist, advocate, teacher, author, speaker and program designer.
Neil M Orr is a Research Psychologist [MA Research Psychology-Health] and has worked in public health for the past 26 years designing and implementing programs.
Orr and Patient have collaborated for the past 20 years and have worked in 17 countries where they run programs. They have co-authored 5 books and have over 19 million copies of their books in circulation. They are currently partnering with the Universities of Washington and San Francisco on the first ever Bio-Medical-Psycho-Social research program funded by the Centre’s for Disease Control and Prevention, using an integrated approach to prevention and treatment.
This two day seminar costs R2,000.00 to attend and a 15% discount will be applied if two or more delegates from the same organisation register for this seminar. Please note that space is limited.
