The Eye of the Tiger Rugby Academy (EOTT) is an initiative to harness and train a ready talent pool for the existing rugby structures and ultimately, the Springboks. This High Performance training Academy is designed to ensure the continuous development and supply of professional black rugby players i.e. Blacks, Coloured and Indian from the primary base of communities and schools in South Africa especially rural and townships.
The main objective is to ensure that there is enough talent to be passed on to the current Rugby unions for future use. The Players of the Eye of the Tiger come from 5 National Provinces, Limpopo, Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Western Cape and Free State and are all from 18yrs to under 21 yrs. The Eye of the Tiger’s mission is to train, educate and produce new talent for the game of Rugby, drawing its membership primarily from previously disadvantaged communities. An opportunity is being created for the discovery, harnessing and nurturing of young talent who have passion for the sport of rugby.
