Zenzele Training and Development is a community-based project in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, Western Cape. Our key focus area is vocational skills training, business skills training, mentorship and small business development for the unemployed people, especially youth from Khayelitsha and surrounding areas.

Unemployment continues to be the fundamental crisis in South Africa and Zenzele therefore exists to increase the employment opportunities of disadvantaged South Africans. To date the organization has trained more than 9000 people in woodwork, sewing, pottery and welding skills and has assisted these people in either finding formal employment or becoming self-employed through Zenzele’s Business Development Department which provides after care support.

Zenzele currently provides space and material on-site at subsidized costs for a few successful trainees in order that they are better able to start their own businesses. The organization is currently working towards expanding this arm of the project by developing a business incubator to support an increasing number of graduates as their businesses get off the ground.

Zenzele currently seeks funding to secure grant funding for the completion of it’s SMME Business Park and Small Business Incubator at a cost of R300,000.00.The facility will support a full range of training, business support and small business incubation services.
