Vukani Community Support Centre

Vukani Community Support Centre is a non-profit humanitarian organization whose aim is to improve people’s lives through training and educational programmes. The formation of the organisation came after realising the different socio-economic challenges that many South African communities are facing. After research was carried out results proved that crime, idleness and lawlessness increases as a result of not only poverty but lack of strong family structure from which most children should be born.

If all citizens grow up with a positive developed mindset the country will develop at an increased pace in all aspects. All the social inequalities, misconceptions, ignorance, hearsay’s and greed are some of the challenges that are counterproductive to the principle of ‘general development’ of a country. The importance of this organization and its programs is vital to this country that is classified as a developing country – the programs produced by this organization play an important role in developing the citizen’s mindset, allowing the government to lead a manageable and a civilized society.

Developed countries have a relatively high number of civil societies that is developed around issues of life skills, social and economic dynamics of their respective countries. The best way for this country to develop and create employment for its citizens is to invest in these programs that will educate and sensitize the people to govern themselves as well as build and boost their life skills knowledge.

Our main objectives are:
- Helping people to realize that change is within the mind set and the importance of self-discipline.
- Creating a community that is crime free, through educating and training programmes provided free of charge to the community.
- Helping people to realize that crime is not an option and showing them a better solution.
- Boosting the mind-set of the people so that they may be able to help themselves through income generating community projects. Dealing directly with the parents and young people aspiring to become parents by instilling values and morals that will help build a stronger family structure.
- Tackling the problems that cause family breakdowns that lead to divorce.
- Dealing with issues affecting single parents and cautioning the youths about the dangers of teenage pregnancy.
- Free counselling services to bigger and minor problems
- Design programs that can also be used to educate and sensitize the illiterate such as training guideline, audio visuals, live drama all meant to caution and educate the vulnerable communities on which is the best path to achieve a successful life free from poverty and ignorance.
- Design educational programs that are specifically designed for the youths to help them become responsible citizens.

VCSC programmes remind the population of their role in a society and will try to transform many people from a state of ignorance to civilization as emphasis will be on basic life skills and family while we strive to HELP THE PEOPLE TO HELP THEMSELVES.

Vukani also offers professional counselling that is conducted by qualified people. Counselling is offered for small and minor problems affecting people in the communities. Our materials are available in different languages to help everyone who seeks our help. We also consider those that are illiterate and we help by designed programs that include audio and visual material, live educational drama and many other programmes.
