The Power of Women and Children was founded in October 2001 to assist very poor communities with entrepreneurial skills, alleviate poverty, eradicating violent conflict, create awareness of AIDS, provide Home Based Care to the HIV / AIDS infected and affected families, care for the children by way of providing counselling and love, awareness of abuse and assist the children in any way possible.
We care for orphaned children by providing full services to them by way of social workers, food and clothing, medical care, schooling transport, uniforms and where possible pay the school fees.
For us, every individual counts, whether in an area of great media coverage or not, we believe that ethnic communities around the world would benefit from being a part of the Serving Our World Family. Our focus on the community helps us to have a wider reaching impact in the lives of children and families made vulnerable through war, disease and circumstances beyond their control.
We spend quality time with the children, playing with them, reading to them and interacting to learn better how and what their individuals needs are so we can customize a response that will meet their needs and help to build a strong foundation for the future of each child.
We run a comprehensive and holistic home based care to people infected and affected by HIV / AIDS by providing counselling, food parcels, clothing, sanitation, love and referral services.
We are running an orphanage located at 4144, Phase1, Tshepisong Roodeport – 9 children are permanently accommodated (including food, clothing, school fees, uniforms, etc). We also provide a pre-school education to 25 underprivileged children to allow them to enter primary school.
PWC has been involved in reproductive health, HIV / AIDS, STI and teenage pregnancy community awareness from 2010 to date. All the above activities are done with the support of trusts, individuals and corporates and we are grateful for their continuous support.
