Thabang’s main target group is destitute children and their care givers battling with harsh poverty, domestic violence and petty crime as well as men and women stricken by HIV / AIDS and other chronic diseases. The objective is giving the children a safe haven and assisting the adults in many ways to manage their day to day life to the benefit of their children.

At Thabang’s Community Care Centre a drop-in centre serves orphans in the informal settlement of Smash Block. More than 30 children visit the centre after school on a daily basis, where they receive a meal and Thabang’s carers supervise their homework and play games with them.

The Thabang bus facilitates the regular weekly transport of HIV+ patients to the Thabazimbi state hospital 35 km away.
