www.safecare.org.za FOCUS AREA:
Safecare Community Care Centre is a registered non-profit organization who strives to, through its crises intervention, education and training programme and support services, to eliminate the effects of domestic violence and other forms of abuse that violates human rights and dignity of its victims. Safecare provides to a small extent legal support, transport and advice, support services to victims of domestic violence and crime, also in the form of a temporary place of safety. Safecare provides services and trauma centres to victims of abuse, crime and HIV/Aids. We have trained community home based care workers caring for infected and affected people of HIV/Aids.

Safecare has several volunteers that provide their time, service, dedication and assistance daily. Safecare networks locally with other like-minded organizations in order to strenghten its networking strategy. Safecare was established to provide trauma debriefing and counselling, a prompt and effective response for victims of crime, abuse and HIV/Aids. However responses will vary according to the needs of the victims.

Safecare provides food and clothing parcels on a daily basis, supporting those from poverty stricken backgrounds and those infected with HIV, as well as providing furniture and blankets to these people. Currently Safecare is supporting four crèches in the rural areas and surrounding. These crèches receive monthly groceries in order to feed the children. Vegetable gardens has also been implemented in order to empower the crèches to feed and care for themselves in order to uplift their community and improve their quality of life.

We provide empowerment in the form of sewing classes and trauma debriefing training. Safecare has developed and continues to maintain effective working relationships with SAPS Amanzimtoti and Kingsway Hospital Amanzimtoti. It is Safecare's wish to strive for and improve living conditions among the disadvantaged, alleviate poverty, provide in the basic needs of people in supplying food to the poor and hungry, to provide care, support and assistance to victims of abuse and crime as well as that of our crèches.

WE NEED:
Food, as we depend largely on the generosity of private and local donations from the community and businesses. Safecare is only able to provide these services if and when we do have the required items (foods) to give.
Clothing, especially children clothing.
Daily parcels are distributed, and Safecare is only able to supply items we have received as donations.
Medical supplies. Safecare also distributes Aids and Rape bags to victims and care workers when required.

UPCOMING EVENTS:
