Princess Alice Adoption Home (PAAH) is a facility of Johannesburg Child Welfare. We provide a place of safety for up to 30 babies at a time – each of whom have been either consented for adoption or abandoned. The ages of the babies range from newborn to two years. We provide for all their developmental needs around the clock in a very caring nursery environment. Adoptions are managed by Johannesburg Child Welfare’s professional social work team.
A loyal volunteer base ensures that each baby and toddler receives the affection needed for them to bond with others (a very important foundation for later life) as well as engaging in stimulating activities.
PAAH is also able to provide a temporary place of safety for up to four young pregnant girls in crisis. They are assisted in all ways during the latter part of their pregnancies, and counselled and supported in making decisions through the difficult time in their lives.
Our high quality of care is made possible by many very generous supporters who respond to our monthly appeals and wish lists.
