PCH is a non-profit organisation which specialises in 24 hour elderly care, with specific reference to mobile residents as well as residents who are frail or suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
Activities at PCH:
Although the residents of PCH have access to a lovely garden, a substantial magazine collection and a well-furnished library, the Home also provides the following activities to residents:
- Regular church services, conducted in the Home’s Chapel by spiritual leaders from a variety of denominations
- Weekly exercise sessions led by a qualified fitness instructor
- Monthly birthday festivities, accompanied by some form of entertainment
- Annual Christmas Party
- Annual dress parade by girls from a local high school, showing their matric dance dresses to residents
- Annual visit by ‘Oom Gert’ with his miniature zoo animals in the garden
- Valentine’s Day celebration
- Easter Celebration

- Our residential facilities are rooms appropriate for residents who are: abled, frail or Alzheimer’s sufferers.

The PCH bookshop:
The PCH Bookshop was started by Pat Dennis as a fundraising initiative where Princess Christian Home sells good quality books at low prices to the public. The Home is grateful to have experienced volunteers who offer their time to help in the bookshop.
The PCH Bookshop is open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 09h30 to 12h00 and on Saturdays from 08h30 to 12h00.
We are continuously in need of second hand books. Donations of books are always welcome to support this cause. For more information on The PCH Bookshop, please contact reception on 012 460 2221.
How can you help?
As a non-profit organisation which does not receive any church or government subsidies, PCH continuously rely on donations from the public. We are registered for Section 18A of the Income Tax Act, which means that you will be able to deduct your donation from your income tax according to the Act.
You are welcome to bring us your second hand accessories, arts and crafts, books, clothing, electrical appliances, furniture, magazines, paper, plants, shoes and toys to name a few.
We are always in need of extra hands. If you have spare time and would like to get involved, please contact us today. We are also in need of a volunteer who can play Bingo, Skittle Ball and / or Dominoes 30 to 45 minutes per week.
