 | FOCUS AREA:
We provide 24-hour accommodation, counselling and education for female street children ranging from the ages of 6 - 18 years. We provide for approximately 150 new girls per year. We provide for their every need (food, clothing, medical needs, schooling).
We empower the girls, through the programs that we run, to cope with life. The girls participate in household duties, including cooking and shopping.
Most of the girls attend school (formal or informal) or creative educational workshops. Non-school going girls are provided with work skills.
We enjoy a 95% success rate in terms of re-unifying the girls with their families or extended family members.
WE NEED:
Money to cover the transport costs for the girls for school, educational outings and medical expenses.
Groceries and cleaning products.
Educational Requirements: School shoes and school fees.
Money to rebuild Ons Plek after a fire.
Money to pay for a teacher at Ons Plek and another one in a small community homework project.
