The Academy brings formal musical training to the youth on the Cape Flats. Formal musical training at school level is not high on the priority list of our students and institutions. The education and subsequent testing curriculum is internationally recognised and accepted as one of the world’s best.

We endeavour to qualify our youth in the music they already play, giving them an understanding in the Arts. Reading, writing and teaching music is what we want every student of the Academy to walk away with, armed with an additional entry on their CVs as they move into the future.

We have seen the impact of our system in students that are now resident in the Cape Philharmonic Youth Wind Ensemble, The CPYSax Ensemble and some aspiring to join the SA Navy and SA Army bands.
