MOT SA

MOT SA facilitates a life-skills training programmes amongst the youth of South Africa. MOT (meaning courage) empowers the youth to make the right choices and to show courage. The beneficiaries are between 12 and 20 years and more than 75% are form previously disadvantaged communities.

Research among students who have completed the MOT programme, indicated the following outcomes:
- 92% of students said that the MOT programme contributed to a better class environment;
- 98% of students said that the MOT programme has helped them to look for positive characteristics in others;
- 90% of students said that the MOT programme has helped them to make conscious choices;
- 91% of students said that the MOT programme has helped them to say no to the wrong influences and decisions.

Life-skills education includes the teaching of vital competencies, attitudes and values that contribute to overall success in life and aid in the establishment of a well-functioning society. The youth of South Africa requires sufficient guidance to make the right choices, to set goals, and to develop their full potential.

Method: MOT SA facilitates the training of staff at various educational institutions to present the MOT programme to the students and manages the effective implementation of the programme.
