Masibambisane Home Community Based Care and Support Groups

Masibambisane Support Group started on 1 April 2001 with 5 people living with HIV / Aids and ten caregivers who were trained by St. Johns Ambulance. They decided to approach the social workers at Khayalethemba and some volunteers to work with them. The purpose of forming the programme was to ensure that care and support is given and the quality of life for people living with HIV / Aids is improved.

Support Groups were formed and Home Based Care programmes were rendered. The target area is in Mdantsane at the following units: N.U 7 to N.U.18, Potsdam, Embekweni, Ezinkomeni, Khayelitsha, Tambo Park in N.U.15, Walter Sisulu Village in N.U 14, Unit P and Emsintsini in Potsdam South.

Our vision is to create an environment and opportunities where all people living with HIV / AIDS, orphans and vulnerable children have to access to high quality service that includes care and support, proper nutrition and social well-being in an environment that respects and supports diversity.

Our mission is a healing environment, delivering exceptional work service that improves the quality of clients and providing employees with meaningful work and advancement opportunities with a superior rate of return ensuring long term success.
