Majeki Missions cares for people. They are the homeless, abused, women, men, the elderly who fell through in life, through various circumstances arriving at the mission down and out materially and spiritually. Here they find comfort and love, where they were rejected by society. They are old, they are young, people from all walks of life, various parts of the country, they come from diverse religious denominations and ethnic backgrounds.
Our core value is to: Love those who feel broken and unlovable, to restore dignity and a feeling of self worth, believing that every person is valuable, we help each one find their own purpose. We help even the neediest to start giving of themselves. Each one’s need is individually assessed at the Hamba-Buya Shelter, a project of Majeki Missions.
We work with protection services, law enforcement, local health facilities and rehabilitation centres, proceeding to place those in need of specialized care in suitable homes. The Shelter can care for 50 to 120 people, providing clothes, bedding, food and medical care where necessary.
The Shelter has its own social life. Residents are encouraged to care for each other. There is a recreation lounge with an equipped library, a TV, DVD player. A developing self-sustained garden provides fresh produce. Counselling is arranged for those in need. The Founders / Management live at Hamba-Buya caring for the people as a family. Everything that happens at the Shelter is aimed at having the residents regain their dignity and make life choices that will restore them fully to humanity and become part of society again.
These are difficult times, financially, emotionally and spiritually. Let us unite and stand together by supporting this project with financial contributions and or any other manner of donations to support the existence of the shelter. So we call on you, make the difference today, take the time to visit Hamba-Buya Shelter for a life changing experience or email us.
