The Itumeleng Innovation Centre for Youth Development is a youth development, non-profit making and non-political organisation that have placed more focus on the development of youth in arts, culture, entrepreneurship, life skills and cultural tourism in the area of Polokwane. Some of our projects / programmes are reaching out to the Limpopo province and South Africa at large.
Itumeleng was established back in 1996 after realising that youth in the community are getting more out of hand, i.e. uncontrolled and that young people are underdeveloped in so many fields of life. Since its inception, the club has proved to be the toast of our province in as far as arts and cultural development is concerned.
Vision: A leading, innovative, creative and world-class youth development organisation. Mission: To render effective and continuing development, empowerment, promotion, counselling, support and information services to our youth through our range of projects / programmes with a special emphasis on the arts and cultural industry.

Our Economic Thrust:
In the absence of job opportunities for young people in South Africa and globally. Itumeleng is aiming at ushering new opportunities for the unemployed young people through arts and culture, particularly music, dance, drama and the visual arts. Itumeleng embodies development of various musical genres, dance movements, enthusiasm, self-awareness, self reliance and income generation spirit among the youth from all walks of life. For many years music, particularly choral music and dance has been in existence as a communal activity and in isolation from other profitable art-forms and this has resulted in its participants making nothing out of it. As a young vibrant team of performing artists, we want to make this a reality for young people. And therefore encourage choral music, dance and other art forms to positively contribute towards the local economic development so that it helps to eradicate issues of poverty, social illnesses, and many other problems like the HIV / AIDS pandemic amongst our society. We believe that as a developing sector, Arts can change lives, mindsets, economies and situations and thus our innovative Programme, Arts for Change!
