Ingcebo Yomdabu

This is a non-profit organisation run by self employed African women mostly doing craft, music and sport. We have no funding at the moment.

We organise and host events in our communities, providing workshop training to women and youth in various activities including craft and sport. Our main objective is to give necessary support to people with talent and those living in poverty and unemployment. This is another mechanism where we assist government in job opportunities creation and skills development.

We have applied for funding to our provincial government in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng. We would like to get funding also from big institutions like the NAC, Lottery and other private institutions by partnershiping with them in our programmes.

We do have pipeline programmes to be fulfilled by next year. One gospel group is preparing for their first recording in January 2011. This is done from our own pockets, these children are from broken families and others are orphans. None of them has a normal structured family. We have now also formed an old ladies soccer team with women from 45 to 80 years old.
