House of Hadassah is a place where we strive to help destitute young girls once they have left school to realise the dreams they have for their futures. Our vision and mission statement is ‘YOUR FUTURE DOES NOT DEPEND ON YOUR PAST’.

We do this through:

1. Provision of a home, in the real sense of the word, a safe place, for girls who are no longer eligible for inclusion in children’s homes. This will operate as a stepping stone for these girls to find their feet, in the adult world, first while equipping themselves for success and becoming part of the solution to the social and family problems of our land.

The first house opened in 2008 and can accommodate 5 girls. We have already worked with 12 young ladies to this date. We would like to multiply this eventually throughout South Africa as it is a unique opportunity to make a major difference in the lives of young underprivileged school leaving girls.

2. Sponsoring tertiary education or skills training for the girls to enter the job market. The training will be done by external training providers. Computer and office and job related skills will also be provided by short courses.

3. Life coaching and mentoring will be an in-house opportunity for each girl to be supported in and provided with the practical knowledge and skills in managing their personal lives, their emotions, dealing with different relationships and making positive life choices. This happens through group as well as individual sessions.
