Hartbeespoort Animal Welfare Society, (HAWS), is the only animal welfare of its kind serving the greater Madibeng area. HAWS rescues abandoned and unwanted animals, gives them veterinary treatment where necessary and houses them while using a variety of networks to find them good homes. All homes are inspected before an animal is adopted out, and all animals are vaccinated and sterilized before being rehomed. HAWS visits schools and squatter camps in our area, educating on the necessity of vaccinating and sterilizing animals, and gives veterinary assistance to low income earners or unemployed people’s animals to ensure they do not suffer. HAWS has an inspector that attends to reports of abuse or cruelty to ensure that all pets in our designated area are happy and healthy!
