We are a non profit organization that has been established to help children that have been exposed to the unfair side of life. These children have been placed in our care due to various circumstances. Management and staff who are volunteers at Happy Family Care Centre strive to give them the best possible love, care, security and guidance that is essential to the development of a child.
We also run a day care centre for parents who are not able to afford the services of a creche and who work shift hours. We currently have 16 children that are housed at the centre and the centre also helps 60 black children from an informal settlement from Dersley Park in Springs. Our age group is from infant till the age of 15 years.
Goals:
Our goal for 2010 is to reach more families and children that are underprivileged to the basic necessities for every day living and expanding our day care centre together with the volunteers and sponsors help. We strive to give the children at Happy Family Care Centre the best possible normality that we can give.
Our children have various extra mural activities that they partake in for example: singing, dancing, art classes, modelling to mention a few. By partaking in these activities the children have an opportunity to build up their self confidence, self esteem, and social skills which are very underdeveloped when they are placed at the centre and are essential for their future.
All the children at the centre who are school going age attend one of our primary or high schools in our area. We find it absolutely necessary that our children be educated in Christianity therefore they attend a local church on Sundays and partake in various church activities as well. All rand value sponsorships and donations are utilized to pay for the abovementioned activities and schooling.
What we require:
We appeal to your organization to help us maintain the lifestyle standard that these children have been granted. A chance to say “I had a great childhood life” when they graduate and start families of their own. We are currently looking for any items that you or your organizations are able to spare for example: Any food stuff, meat, vegetables, clothing. Or anything that you can donate. Anything that you or your organization is willing to donate we are willing to take from you. Should or your organization be willing to donate rand value it would be greatly appreciated and used accordingly, all that we ask is that you deposit it into the Centre’s bank account directly. Any items donated can be delivered to the abovementioned address at any time or we will collect with the greatest of pleasure.
