 | FOCUS AREA:
Epilepsy South Africa: "Turning Obstacles into True Potential!"
Programmes:
In order to realize its objectives, Epilepsy South Africa is currently implementing the following six national programmes, namely:
- A media awareness and marketing programme: which aims to promote the work of the organisation as well as the abilities of its beneficiaries;
- An advocacy programme: which aims to eradicate discrimination against people with epilepsy and/or disabilities as well as the myths about epilepsy, which are still in existence;
- A sustainability programme: which aims to ensure that the organisation will be in a position to effectively implement its programmes;
- A social development programme: to ensure that relevant social development services are provided to beneficiaries, including children, youth, the aged, women and people living with HIV/AIDS;
- An economic development programme: to facilitate the economic integration of beneficiaries within our society through relevant training and placement, as well as, small business development initiatives; and
- An organisational development programme: to ensure effective skills development of the organisation's management, personnel, volunteers and consumers throughout the country in order to maximise efficiency and contribute towards staff/skills retention within the organisation. This programme also addresses good governance and transformation within the organisation.
