Eco Access was founded to champion the rights of people with disability in advocacy, awareness raising and to promote human rights. The aim was for people with disability to access the natural environment, a consequence of its founders Rob and Julie Filmer. Rob lost sight while he was a nature conservation practitioner. Our objective is to address the high levels of disempowerment and segregation experienced by persons with:
- Visual
- Hearing
- Physical and
- Intellectual impairment
Our programmes include: Diversity Challenge. “Twinning” Camps, Green Schools, Corporate Training and Volunteer Training all based on a model where able bodied persons are twinned with persons with disability. By design all activities are conducted in nature reserves in order to promote environmental appreciation and awareness.
