Concerned Residence Movement (Coremo) focuses on human rights issues and operates among the downtrodden. It is an apolitical organization whose constituency is mainly those people who do not have access to basic facilities, illiterate, don’t have an advantage of interpreting even the fundamental human rights as enshrined to the Bill of Rights be it in the South African context or the Universal declaration of human rights.
Institutions like the Human Rights Commission, Public protector, National Director of Prosecution, etc are only accessed by the elite currently. We work with the shack dwellers for their own emancipation. We deal with the social factors linking where possible with the members of the elite for their role in easing the pain to the sufferers.
