Vision: ITEC sees a future where communities can live, learn and grow to be safe, caring and child-friendly environments.
Mission: ITEC aspires to develop child-friendly responses to challenges facing children and youth through working in partnership with communities and other key stakeholders to address barriers to education and development.
Objectives:
1. To promote knowledge and practices around the developmental needs of young children;
2. To contribute to improving learning and teaching in schools;
3. Work with out-of-school children and youth to become positive role-models and leaders;
4. Conduct research and serve as a critical and informed voice to promote better practices;
5. To provide opportunities for people to build skills and competence.
We need:
1. Assistance with repairs and maintenance to buildings (materials and labour);
2. Children’s easy reader novels and non-fiction books for our library (no text books or encyclopaedias please);
3. Support for our Adopt-A-Library Campaign;
4. Project Specific Funding (creating child friendly communities): early childhood development and child friendly schools.
